Day 1: Transfer To Murchison Falls National Park And En Route To Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After a wonderful morning breakfast at around 6 am at your hotel in Kampala, drive to Murchison Falls National Park which is about 310 km and may take 4-5 hours.

You will enjoy the panoramic drive northwest through the former battle zone of the Luwero Triangle. This comes with the alluring rural landscapes of Uganda with a lavish green cover, sparse human settlements, centers, and markets where you will see people going on with their daily routines.

Continue your journey driving through the amazing flat stretches of Nakasongola district before en-routing at Nakitooma for a 7km drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. This is the only place in Uganda to have wild Rhinos.

Upon your time of arrival, you get the opportunity to track the Rhinos for 2 hours on foot under the guidance of an expert ranger guide. If the Rhinos are a bit far, you may drive closer to reduce the distance of the foot trekking.

During this epic activity, your ranger will tell you more information concerning the Rhinos and how you are to behave when tracking. When you have spotted the magnificent prehistoric creatures, you are permitted to be in their presence for 1 hour.

In addition to seeing the Rhinos, you also have a chance of seeing other animals like Water-bucks, Bush-bucks, and Uganda kobs. And, many birds to over 300 birds harbor within the sanctuary e.g. Grey-crowned Crane, Kingfishers, and Abyssinian Ground Horn-bill.

After, the gorgeous activity, head to Murchison Falls park passing Masindi town and Budongo Forest. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

The highlight of the day: -Tracking wild White Rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on foot.

Day 2: Do A Morning Game Drive, Afternoon Boat Cruise, And Hike To The Top Of The Falls

Have your breakfast at around 6:30 am and after head on a 3-4 hours game drive in the northern sector of the park. You will drive going through the rolling grassy hills dotted with Borassus palms and swarming with notable African Savannah animals.

You then set off for an afternoon launch cruise along the significant Nile River to the bottom of Murchison Falls. This boat trip lasts for 2 hours and you will get the ultimate experience.

You will see various animals in the water and those coming to the river banks to drink water. Sightings of Hippos, Nile Crocodiles, and Monitor Lizards are guaranteed. Be on the lookout for Buffaloes, Elephants, and Antelopes drinking water on the riverside.

And there are various birds as well to see since the bird checklist of the park is over 556 bird species.

During this course, the waters of the Nile River make a rapidly thunderous roar sound and a voluminous water spray. This is a great time for you to pose for pictures of Murchison Falls and after head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

The highlight of the day: A morning game drive and a wonderful boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls.

Day 3: Transfer To Kibale National Park

Enjoy your breakfast at peace at around 7:30 am and drive about 441 km (8-9 hours) to Kibale National Park. You will drive along the striking scenery of the Albert Rift Valley with Lake Albert inclusive.

Other impressive scenery you will see are the Butiaba escarpments and the Blue Mountains of Congo before stopping in Hoima town for lunch. After your amazing lunch, drive to Fort Portal for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Fort Portal is located on rolling hillsides, near tea plantations in the shadows of the Rwenzori Mountains and it is one of the most attractive cities in Uganda.

This town is the seat of the ancient Kingdom of Toro and it also has a solid relationship with the mythical Bachwezi Empire.

Many believe that Ndahura the first Bachwezi King retired in Fort Portal in Mubende after he renounced the throne to his son Wamala. And, also, it said that many crater lakes in the vicinity of the town were his creation.

The highlight of the day: A scenic drive through the striking countryside landscapes with rural settlements and village towns.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking In Kibale National Park And Transfer Back To Kampala

Have an early morning breakfast at 6 am and drive to Kibale National Park. This park is popular for those in search of Chimpanzees (human’s closest relatives with DNA 98.7% similarity).

Kibale National Park is home to 3 habituated Chimpanzee families and trackers and guides are specialists in locating the apes.

Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park begins with a briefing at 8 am. When in search of the Chimpanzees, you also have opportunities of seeing other 12 primate species.

These include;

·        Red-tailed Monkey

·        Blue-tailed Monkey
