Day 1: Arrive In Uganda Via Entebbe International Airport And Transfer To Your Hotel

This 10 days Uganda safari starts with you arriving at Entebbe International Park and getting off your flight. You will meet with our loving caring driver guide who will drive you to your booked hotel in Entebbe for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Entebbe is a small quiet town within Central Uganda located 40km southwest of Kampala on the shores of Lake Victoria. This is the largest tropical freshwater lake in the world.

If your flight arrives early, then you can opt to visit the nearby attractions.

Among these options are the amazing Entebbe Botanical Gardens where you can chill for a few hours. You can see various exotic plants over 300 species, many Uganda birds, and primate species, especially the unique Black-and-white Colobus Monkeys.

The other option is the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre where you can sight and learn more about the endemic wildlife of Uganda. Visit the local markets and buy yourself some souvenirs.

Finally, you can visit Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary on Lake Victoria for clear sightings of the Chimpanzees. And also you can opt for boarding a local canoe to Mabamba Swamp in search of the Shoebill.

Day 2: Transfer To Murchison Falls National Park And En Route To Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary To Track Rhinos On Foot

This day of the 10 days safari Uganda tour starts with a hearty breakfast from your hotel. From here, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park which is in the northwest and a drive of about 5-6 hours.

Murchison park is the oldest, largest, and one of the finest national park in Uganda. This drive will take you through the dynamic towns and Uganda villages before you en route to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

At this sanctuary, you will embark on a memorable 2-hour Rhino tracking adventure. This activity is enjoyed on foot and you are escorted by skilled ranger guides. After, enjoy a hot lunch from Kabalega Dinner.

From here, commence with your journey to Murchison Falls park which covers an area of 3,893 km2. It is home to over 144 Uganda mammal species with 4 of the big 5 animals.

Also, it boosts more than 556 Uganda birds and its scenery is just breathtaking.

In this park, it is where river Nile (Africa’s longest river) bisects the thriving savannahs and is fringed by dense riverine woodlands. From here it squeezes into a narrow cliff Rift valley escarpment to form the stunning Murchison Falls (the world’s strongest waterfalls).

Day 3: Enjoy A Morning Game Drive In The Savannah Plains And An Afternoon Murchison Falls Boat Cruise

Have an early morning breakfast at 6 am and embark on a 3-4 hour morning safari game drive. This gives you opportunities of exploring the charming Savannah grasslands within the northern section of the park.

Within these grasslands, you will see the striking sunrise as you look out for various Savannah animals like;

Also, you will see phenomenal water birds before having a stop a few meters towards the bottom of the falls.

From here, you will wonder how a 50-meter-wide Nile river squeezes into an 8-meter cliff escarpment before dropping 45 meters. Where these falls drop is famed as the devil’s cauldron.

After this enticing activity, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Visit The Top Of Murchison Falls & Transfer To Kibale National Park Via Fort Portal Town

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and after transfer to the top of Murchison Falls where you will see the world’s powerful waterfalls from a different perception. When here, you will witness how charming the waterfalls are!

After witnessing the falls, drive to Kibale National Park which is about 6 hours in the south. On this journey, you pass across the scenic Albertine rift valley surpassing through the rural Ugandan villages.

This journey will take you to Fort Portal where you will have lunch this town is a beautiful scenic area of Uganda. It is located within the shadows of the magical Rwenzori Mountains and this town is also popular for its many tea plantations.

After, you will proceed to Kibale National Park which is one of the finest and has the most varied zones of a tropical forest in Uganda. This park sits on an area of 770 km2 and it is known for having the highest density of primates in Africa.

It sums to 13 primate species with over 1,500 wild Common Chimpanzees which are human’s closest living relatives. You will reach your accommodation in the evening for relation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 5: Have A Chimpanzee Trekking Adventure In Kibale Forest & Afternoon Bigodi Community Village Walk

Have a hearty breakfast at around 6:30 am and after head to Kanyanchu Visitors Center in Kibale Forest. This is where you are going to enjoy the memorable Chimpanzee trekking that starts at 8 am.

Chimpanzee trekking here starts with a briefing at 7 am which is conducted by skilled park rangers and they will be your guides throughout. After getting briefed, embark into the forest on foot in search of the chimpanzees.

These apes are smaller than Gorillas though charming, very wise, and live in communities of up to 250 individuals. Chimpanzee trekking is between 2-6 hours filled with amazing sightings.

This park has a success rate of 95% in seeing the Chimpanzees which is far beyond other areas and better than Rwanda. Upon spotting the Chimpanzees, you are given 1 full hour to be in their presence. This is a better chance for you to take as many pictures as you want!

After this enchanting activity, return to the lodge for a hot lunch. Afterward, later in the afternoon, transfer for a guided cultural walk in Bigodi Village. Also, you can as well trail along the village path and visit a primary school.

You can also visit traditional homesteads and enjoy the stories of a Mzee (elderly man) which are historical and guiding.

Retire at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Travel Queen Elizabeth NP. Enjoy A Boat Cruise On Kazinga Channel & Evening Game Drive Along The Channel Track

Enjoy a superb cozy breakfast and after transfer on a scenic drive of about 2-3 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a UN Biosphere Reserve and the most popular destination for a safari in Uganda.

Queen Elizabeth park sits on an area of 1978 km2 making it have varied landscapes of rolling Savannah, shady humid forests, sparkling lakes, and fertile wetlands. This makes the park a perfect area for wild animals and over 600 Uganda bird species.

Arrive at your lodge on time and have a fabulous lunch and chill for a short time. Later in the afternoon, embark on a 2-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. It is a 32 km natural channel stretch joining the 2 lakes of George and Edward.

This channel has the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa and along its shores are the huge Nile Crocodiles. And, also you can see Elephants, Buffaloes, Antelope species, and various water-associated birds.

Day 7: Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Via Queen Elizabeth NP’s Ishasha Sector, The Home Of Tree-Climbing Lions

Have a hearty cozy breakfast and set off for the southern sector (Ishasha) of Queen Elizabeth park.

Embark on a safari game drive as you search for the uncommon tree-climbing Lions. These predators spend most of their time lying in the appealing fig trees. This is like a strategy as they are looking at the Uganda Kobs as they graze.

Also, you will see Buffaloes, Elephants, Topis, and numerous birds. As this game drive elapses, depart and drive further south passing in the rolling hills. And the traditional homesteads and enjoy panoramic sightings.

You will enjoy lunch en route before proceeding to Bwindi National Park. The Bwindi park is a World Heritage site sitting on an area of 321 km2 lying on the edge of the Rift Valley.

This park’s hillsides are covered in mist and shaded by one of Africa’s oldest and most biologically varied rain forests. It harbors about 400 plant species. This park is popularly known for having 50% of the world’s surviving Mountain Gorillas with about 459 individuals at last count.

Bwindi National Park also boosts more than 120 Uganda mammals and has over 351 bird species including 23 Albertine Rift endemics.

Day 8: Do Mountain Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Impenetrable Forest & Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi For A Boat Tour & Relaxation

Today, experience what some people define as a life-changing adventure: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Forest!

Have a spending breakfast at 6:30 am and then set off to the park headquarters for briefing. This is conducted by skilled local rangers who then guide you throughout the entire activity.

At 8 am, embark and enter into the rain forest that is full of uncommon Monkeys, exotic birds, and butterflies. Usually, Gorilla trekking in Uganda takes between 2-8 hours taking you on the challenging steep trails and dense vegetation.

Although challenging, your efforts will be paid off when you meet a family of endangered Mountain Gorillas. You find them feasting, grooming each other, playing, and napping.

Their behavior is so catchy when you are in front of them as you may feel that you have known them for your entire life. It is indeed exciting and inspiring to see the largest living primates in the world when in their natural habitat.

You will spend 1 hour of your lifetime with the Gorillas and after enjoy your packed lunch. Rangers will walk you back to the park center so that you get awarded a Gorilla tracking certificate.

After this superb activity, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi a fabulous tropical gem of the Kigezi highland. When here, you will be blown away by the attractiveness and scenery of this lake.

On arrival, enjoy a tranquil boat cruise as you explore some of the lake’s popular 29 islands.

Day 9: Drive From Lake Bunyonyi To Lake Mburo National Park For An Evening Game Drive

Have a hearty laze breakfast on this 9th day of your 10 days Uganda safari tour. After, prepare and drive northeast for around 4 hours to Lake Mburo National Park. This is the smallest Savannah national park in Uganda sitting on an area of 260km2 (100 miles2).

Even though it is small, its scenery is quite outstanding boosting over 350 bird species and 68 Uganda animals. These include Leopards, Jackals, Hyenas, and Buffaloes.

Lake Mburo National Park is the only place in western Uganda having Zebras, Impalas, and Eland antelopes. Also, this park has 5 lakes which are home to Hippos, Crocodiles, and Water-birds. These lakes are associated with papyrus swamps which is a habitat for the Sitatunga antelope.

This drive to Lake Mburo National Park takes to about 4 hours taking through small villages. Also takes you through coffee and banana plantations and many rolling hills.

You will however have a lunch stop in Mbarara town at Igongo Cultural Center. This establishment comprises a 5-star hotel, a classic restaurant, craft centers, and a stunning cultural museum.

After having this outstanding lunch, commence to Mburo park with views of herds of Ankole cattle towards the park entrance. Upon arrival, check in your lodge and relax and you prepare for an evening game drive.

Day 10: Enjoy A Morning Walking Safari In Mburo And Transfer Back To Entebbe Via The Uganda Equator Line Kayabwe

Lake Mburo National Park is one of the best places in Uganda for walking safaris.

Have an early morning breakfast at around 6 am and link up with an expert local ranger who knows the park very well. On this walk you will be searching for;

·        Giraffes

·        Zebras

·        Elands

·        Impalas

·        Topis

·        Waterbucks

·        Bushbuck

You will as well see various bird species and many other sightings while on foot. There is no need to worry about having no vehicle on this walk since you are safe as this park has no Lions and Elephants.

After enjoying this walk, transfer back to Entebbe which is about 3-4 hours. However, on this journey, en route stopping at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe. This is your only chance to stand in the middle of the world.

The equator line divides the earth into 2 hemispheres. And, when here you will stand in both parts as you stand with one leg in the Northern hemisphere while the other in the Southern. It is the best time to pose for your memorable photos.
