18 Days Uganda Safari Tour – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive In Uganda (Entebbe International Airport) & Transfer To The Lodge

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet and greet your safari guide from Prime Safaris & Tours Ltd. Your guide will humbly welcome you to Uganda and after transfer you to your hotel for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Your safari guide will brief you about the whole safari on this very day.

Day 2: Head To Jinja- The Source Of The Fabulous Nile River

After, an amazing breakfast, you will drive to Jinja which is 80km away from Kampala Uganda’s capital. This drive to Jinja is about 2hrs taking you past the striking landscapes of the city outskirts.

And, this journey continues taking you through the sugarcane plantations at Lugazi, Mabira Forest, and finally arriving in Jinja for white water rafting.

River Nile flows out of Lake Victoria at the submerged Rippon Falls and courses on its 6650km distance to the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt. On its journey, it encounters a series of solid thick rocks that form cascades and rapids. This creates rafts where you can undertake a challenging adventure that is worth it.

During your rafting adventure, you are accompanied by expert guides who are there to rescue you in case the rafts push you off the raft.

Day 3: Drive To Murchison Falls National Park. Make A Stop En Route At Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Enjoy breakfast before you drive to Murchison Falls National Park. The distance to the park is 311km with a drive distance of around 5 hours. Before reaching the park, branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakitoma for Rhino tracking on foot.

This en-route is 115 km from Kampala and the sanctuary is just 7 km from the man road.

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you will meet White Rhinos. These Rhinos were reintroduced in the sanctuary in 2005 following their extinction in the country in 1983.

You will trek 32 majestic southern white Rhinos in their natural habitat. When trekking the Rhinos, you will walk past the beautiful flora, amazing landscapes, and beautiful birds making this encounter worth undertaking.

Day 4: A Morning Game Drive & A Boat Cruise In Murchison Falls National Park

Have an early morning breakfast at your lodge at around 7 am. After your guide will transfer you to the northern sector (Buligi game area) for a 3-4 hours game drive adventure.

During your safari game drives, you will see large herds of Giraffes, Buffaloes, Elephants, and several Antelope species, Warthogs, Hippos, etc.

On top of that, you will as well spot a variety of bird species and if lucky you can see Lions and Leopards.

Have breakfast and afterward transfer to the top of Murchison Falls. When here, you will get clear sightings of the world’s most powerful waterfall from a different perspective.

You will witness the amazing 50m wide River Nile squeezing to pass through an 8m gorge and falling 45 m into the Devil’s Cauldron. This is so charming for photo-shoots.

After seeing the falls, you will then transfer to Hoima en route to a historical site at Kibiro Salt Gardens. This site has embraced the living of the surrounding communities for over 900 years ago.

Many locals extract salt from here using traditional skills and barter it for food. You will explore the site which will expose you to walking on a steep and challenging landscape that is only accessible on foot.

Day 6: Drive To Fort Portal, Have Lunch And Do Either Cycling In Mpanga Tea Estates Or Hike Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before transferring to Fort Portal Area which takes about 5 hour drive. You will pass through the scenic countryside of Kagadi and Kyenjojo which are dotted with lush green, rural homesteads, and farmlands.

Upon arrival in Fort Portal town, you will enjoy a hot lunch and afterward head for a cycling adventure in the Mpanga tea estates.  This tea estate is spread over a continuing landscape with endless scenic views which is ideal to explore while on a Mountain bike.

During this encounter, you will come across estate staff plucking tea and you are free to engage in the activity as well.

Alternatively, you can opt to visit Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves and hike the Fort Portal Crater Lake field. On your arrival, you are welcomed by the residents who are deeply knowledgeable about the places’ history.

Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru is breast-like features that are believed to have belonged to Nyinamwiru. She was the daughter of Bukuku who had self-enthroned himself as the King of the Bachwezi.

He denied his daughter breastfeeding her son Ndahura as he was informed that the boy would eventually take over his throne. To date, milk-like structures keep on dripping from the breast-like structures meaning that Nyinamwiru’s breasts are dripping.

You can then head out and engage on a hike to Fort Portal Crater field. You can hike the challenging slope of Kyeganywa hill bounded by many crater lakes and crater hollows. It showcases the charming scenic sites in Uganda.

Also, the top of kyeganywa hill gives you clear sightings of the Rwenzori Mountains on a clear day. You can then now head to Kibale National Park for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking In Kibale Forest National Park And Nature Walk In Bigodi Wetland

Enjoy a thrilling breakfast and afterward transfer to Kibale National Park headquarters for briefing at 8 am. This is to prepare you for the Chimpanzee trekking that lasts about 2-5 hours depending on the location of the Chimpanzees.

Once you spot the Chimpanzees (human cousins), you are permitted to be in their presence for 1 enchanting hour. You will watch them play, feed, groom, and swing in trees. Also, you will get to understand their special wonderful pant-hooting calls.

This will be a great time for you to take pictures for remembrance of meeting the great apes.

Day 8: Drive To Semliki National Park. Visit Sempaya Hot Springs, Batwa Of Ntandi & Drive To Kasese

After an outstanding breakfast, transfer to Semliki National Park with a drive distance of 78 km taking about 2-3 hours. Upon arrival, embark on the well-known Sempaya nature walk to explore the hot springs.

These hot springs are both female (Bitente) and male hot springs (Nyansimbi). They can both boil to over 100^oc and the female hot springs have a hot boiling geyser sprouting up to 2m high.

For a great adventure, when here, you can have deep eggs to boil so that you have a picnic bite. While you navigate the hot springs, you will get to see the lush flora Semliki forest which is an extension of the Congo forest biome.

Also, look out for some of the primates like olive Baboons and Black-and-white Colobus Monkeys.

You can then end the encounter and visit the Batwa people in Ntandi. These people were the original forest keepers before they were evicted to conserve nature. The Batwa will perform for you a dance and also share their ancient cultural heritage.

After this superb exploration, proceed to Kasese. On arrival in this beautiful town, visit the Rwenzori Art Foundation which is the only bronze casting center in the whole of Africa.

You will get a great opportunity of navigating the gallery and see an assortment of artworks and you can also engage in the casting process.

In case time is on your side, you can also opt to visit the Ruboni Craft Village and see women making magnificent craft products. You can learn a skill like a basket weaving.

Day 9: Whole Day Hiking Rwenzori Mountains

After an amazing early breakfast, you will transfer and gather at Nyakalengija park station to encounter a full-day Rwenzori Mountains hike. This Mountain rises to over 5,109m altitude with snowcapped peaks even though it is near the Equator.

Rwenzori Mountain is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is well recognized for its amazing flora more than the fauna. The flora includes the stunning giant lobelias and the groundsels.

Also, you see the unbelievable glaciated peaks and glaciers dropping down the mountain while on a hike. Also on this hike, you will enjoy the panoramic views of the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth park, the rift valley, and Kasese town.

You have a fabulous lunch on the mountain and later in the evening at around 5 pm, you can end the activity. You will then retire and relax as you await dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Game Drive & Boat Cruise In Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and embark on a morning game drive. During this encounter, you will sight the 4 of the African safari big 5 these are Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, and Elephants.

You will see many antelope species like Waterbucks, Kobs, Bushbucks, and Oribis. These are mostly spotted on a stretch to Kasenyi and the Mweya peninsular.

You can then return to your lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon (2 pm), aboard a 2-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. You will witness the highest concentration of hippos in one place in the world and see many bird species.

Day 11: Drive To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Undertake A Game Drive In Ishasha Of Queen Elizabeth National

After an outstanding breakfast, embark on a journey to Bwindi National Park which is about 160km is taking 3- 4 hour drive. You will drive through the remote southern sector (Ishasha) of Queen Elizabeth park well known for the tree-climbing Lions.

However, you can still see other wildlife like Uganda Kobs, Topis, Buffaloes, and Elephants. After encountering the fascinating tree-climbing Lions, commence to Bwindi park.

You will arrive in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Impenetrable Park

Enjoy an energizing breakfast, and head to Bwindi National Park headquarters along with your packed lunch for briefing at 8 am. After the briefing, you embark on the activity within the misty and hilly Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

You will be accompanied by rangers, trackers, and a park guide. The hike requires some bit of physicality though the result is worth the challenge. Gorilla trekking in this forest lasts about 2-8 hours.

Once you encounter the giant apes, you are given 1 full stunning hour to be with them. You get to see them feeding, playing, grooming, kissing, etc. This is a great opportunity to take nonstop photos for remembrance.

You can then enjoy your packed lunch and afterward trek back to the starting point to meet again with your guide. He will transfer you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Day 13: Do An Adventure Hike To Any Of The 3 Volcanoes Or Do Golden Monkey Tracking In Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Ntebeko park headquarters for briefing at 8 am. After you will encounter the adventure of hiking a volcano of your choice and you can opt for Muhabura, Gahinga, or Sabinyo.

The Sabinyo peak climb is at 3,669m taking approximately 8 hours to complete a 14-kilometer round trip.

Gahinga rises to 3,474 m and takes about 6 hours, providing opportunities to see Golden Monkeys in the Bamboo zone. The hike up Muhabura Mountain (4,127m) takes about 8 hours which is a 12km round trip and offers distant views of the Bwindi forest.

On a clear day, you can also see the Rwenzori Mountains, the entire Virunga Mountain chain, and the 3 countries of Uganda, Congo, and Rwanda.

You can also opt to go for Golden Monkey tracking where you get a great opportunity of exploring the golden Monkeys. This park is home to about 3000 -4000 Golden Monkeys though only 120 individuals are habituated.

Visitors can always find these gorgeous creatures within the bamboo zone of Mount Gahinga. The golden patch on these monkeys and their playful tactics make them interesting to track for those on safaris to Uganda.

You can end the day’s adventure and then return to the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 14: Do Batwa Trail Cultural Experience And Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi

The Batwa (Pygmy) people were originally inhabiting in Mgahinga Mountain Forest before they were evicted so that it can be gazetted as a park. These people settled on the forest margins and the trail has been developed to help visitors explore the Batwa heritage.

Along this trail, you will be accompanied by expert Batwa guides. This adventurous trail starts from Ntebeko in the morning. As you follow this designated trail, the Batwa will show you several items and what they meant to their tradition.

These include medicinal plants, wild honey extraction, Bamboo cup, tree-house making, and forest hunting techniques. You will then reach the Ngarama cave which was home to their chief.

While on this encounter, the Batwa women will sing a range of amazing traditional songs. The sounds of the songs will take you back to life in the forest of these people representing their astonishing cultural heritage.

This epic experience lasts about 5-6 hours. Afterward, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and you will be driving along the scenic Kisoro-Kabale road with its puzzling road sections.

Day 15: Do A Canoe/ Boat Ride On Lake Bunyonyi, Visit Islands, Communities & A Local School

Also, it is the 2^nd deepest lake in Africa bounded by the amazing hills of Kigezi which give you stunning scenery when sailing on the calm waters.

Day 16: Drive To Lake Mburo National Park For Night Game Drive

This is a busy day, so you’ll eat breakfast early and then spend the rest of the day island hopping. The main islands of Lake Bunyonyi will be explored here.

You will visit Bucurunuka (upside down) island, which is said to have buried people alive. This occurred when young people refused to give a local brew to an elderly woman, who cursed the island, turning it upside down and burying the people.

Explore the Akampene (Punishment Island), where unmarried pregnant girls were left to die of starvation or drown trying to escape.

Other few islands are Bushara, Kahugye, and Njuyera Islands. You will retreat from the activity returning to your lodge for lunch.

From here, you will head to Lake Mburo National Park which is 199km and about a 5- 6 hour drive. This journey will take you through the stunning countryside landscapes before reaching Mbarara town.

This town is just 45 km away from Lake Mburo National Park. However, you can also choose if you want to explore the Igongo Cultural center. It is the biggest private museum in Uganda and consists of artifacts from southwestern Uganda or explore the Biharwe eclipse monument.

After engaging in any of the epic experience, you proceed to the park and check in at your lodge, and await dinner. Later at around 7 pm, head out for a night game drive as it is the best opportunity of seeing nocturnal animal species.

You will spot creatures like;

If lucky, you will be able to see day grazers having a night’s rest. You can then retire for overnight.

Day 17: Undertake A Cultural Tour To The Banyankole Community At Enyemebwa Center

Wake up at 6 a.m. and travel to Enyemebwa center to meet the herd’s men who are preparing to milk cattle as part of their daily routine. You will also participate in the traditional hand milking of Ankole long-horned cattle while here.

You can assist in the treatment of sick animals. Or you can care for cows by brushing their bodies, and going graze the cows in the wild.

After this encounter, go to the traditional hut where women are shaking milk in a churning gourd. You will visit the extensive banana plantations and engage in pruning

You will also weed the gardens using traditional methods before engaging in the preparation of a traditional lunch.

Day 2: Do Half a Day of White Water Rafting In Jinja & Boat Cruise To The Source Of The River Nile

After enjoying a thrilling breakfast, embark on a journey to Jinja which is 80km (2 hours) from Kampala the capital city of Uganda.

You will pass through the striking landscapes of the city outskirts before entering the scenic sugarcane plantations at Lugazi. You will also go through the forested lands of Mabira before arriving in Jinja for White water Rafting.

Africa’s longest river (River Nile) moves out of Lake Victoria and submerges at Rippon Falls as it starts on this journey. This course is 6650 km as it empties in the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt.

Along this epic course, it meets a series of impermeable rocks that form cascades and rapids. This makes a good environment for undertaking many challenging adventures that are worth it.

You will raft in the company of expert guides who are ever at your rescue in case the white waters overturn your raft. After this encounter, transfer to the source of the Nile in the afternoon.

Day 3: Transfer To Lake Mburo National Park. A Stop At Uganda Equator- Kayabwe And An Evening Game Walking Safari In Lake Mburo NP

After a thrilling breakfast at around 6:30 am, drive to Lake Mburo National Park which is about 24km and a 3-4 hours drive. Along this journey for about 77km, stop at the Equator crossing monument in Kayabwe.

This is a great time and opportunity for you to take photo-shoots as you stand in both hemispheres of the earth at once which is memorable! You can also enjoy wonderful experiments to know the geographical separation of the north and southern hemispheres.

This is witnessed by doing the equator water experiment.

Retreat from this break and commence to Lake Mburo National Park and check in your lodge for lunch and a bit of relaxation.

From here, enjoy an evening overwhelming game-walking safari as you pass through the wonderful acacia plains. This offers you great sightings of the park as you explore it while on foot.

During this walking safari, you will see various game animals like Giraffes, Impalas, Zebras, Topis, Warthogs, Water-bucks, Bush-bucks, Elands, and acacia-associated birds. Return from the activity for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 4: Undertake An Experiential Cultural Tour Of The Banyankole Community And Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi

Wake up so early at 6 am and transfer to Enyemebwa center to meet up with the herd’s men who are preparing to milk cattle as their daily routine. When here, you will also engage in the traditional hand milking of Ankole long-horned cattle.

You will also participate in sick animal treatment and also care for cows by brushing their bodies and you can also go graze the cows in the wild.

End this encounter afterward visit the traditional hut where you will find women shaking milk in a churning gourd. You will also embark on the extensive banana plantations and engage in pruning.

You will as well weed the gardens using local methods and then afterward engage in the preparation of a traditional lunch.

End the encounter and commence to Lake Bunyonyi the 2^nd deepest lake in Africa. Along this journey, you can opt to have a delicious traditional lunch at the Igongo Cultural center just 12km from Mbarara town.

This a busy day so you will have breakfast early and afterward encounter a whole day of island hopping. Here you will explore the main islands of Lake Bunyonyi.

You will have a visit to the Bucurunuka (upside down) island which is believed to have buried people alive. This happened when youths refused to give local brew to an old woman who then cursed the island to turn upside down and bury the people.

Also, explore the Akampene (Punishment Island) where unmarried pregnant girls were left to die of hunger or die by drowning trying to escape.

Other islands include Bushara, Kahugye, and Njuyera Island which were a traditional leprosy healing center. All this exploration experience will show the local life of the island communities like the process of brewing local beer.

End this activity and transfer along the scenic charming Kabale –Kisoro road to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Upon arrival, relax, and await dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Undertake Volcano Climbing To Any OF The Three Volcanic Mountains Namely: Gahinga, Muhabura, And Sabinyo

After an early breakfast, gather at Ntebeko park headquarters along with your packed lunch. From here, you will receive a briefing from park rangers at 8 am. After this short briefing, go volcano climbing.

You opt to choose 3 of the mountains of Muhabura, Gahinga, or Sabinyo. The longest hike is the Sabinyo peak at 3,669m which takes around 8 hours making a 14 km round trip.

Gahinga reaches 3,474km taking about 6 hours giving you opportunities of seeing the Golden Monkeys in the Bamboo zone. Muhabura Mountain (4,127m) hike takes about 8 hours and its peak offers distant views of the Bwindi forest.

You also get to see the Rwenzori Mountains on a clear day, the entire Virunga Mountain chain, and the 3 countries of Uganda, Congo, and Rwanda.

After this amazing adventure, retire at your lodge as you await your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Do Batwa Trail Cultural Experience And Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The Batwa trail gives a glimpse into the historical lifestyles of this background community from the perception of ancient forest life. The trail tour starts at 8 am at Ntebeko Visitor’s Centre and lasts for around 5-6 hours.

Gorilla trekking in Uganda is a lifetime adventure as it gives you chances of meeting the Gorillas in their natural habitat. It is most enjoyed in the misty Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, encounter on a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive through the southern sector of the park which is Ishasha well known for harboring the tree-climbing Lions.

You will see the superb Lions resting securely up in the big fig tree branches as they sight on their prey. These are usually the Uganda Kobs feeding within the Savannah plains.

After exploring the mysterious creatures, proceed to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will be arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Do Morning Game Drive, Afternoon Kazinga Channel Launch Cruise, And Transfer To Kasese

You will have an early breakfast and by 7 am you will go for a game drive within the amazing Kasenyi plains of this park. This safari game drive during this Uganda safari will give you the opportunity of seeing the African safari big 5.

Day 11, 12, and 13: Rwenzori Mountains Hike

Day 11: Hike From Ibanda To Omu’ka Kizza Rest Camp (2.977 M)

Have breakfast early and embark on a trek to the fabled Mountains of the moon and which arise at 5,109m altitude with snow-capped peaks.

This day trek will take you through the Kyambogho forest ridge. As you climb the forested ridge, you get excellent sightings of Mubuku Valley and spot numerous primates.

These range from the rare L’Hoest’s Monkeys to the Blue Monkeys reaching up to the Ornu’ka Kiiza Rest Camp at an altitude of 2,977m. This area gives you charming views of the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains and Kasese town.

When you are below 2,160m altitude, you can be able to spot the amazing Rwenzori Turaco and you will also be able to hear pant hooting calls of chimpanzees. You will rest and camp for an overnight in the mountain wilderness.

Day 12: Hike From Omu’Ka Kizza Rest Camp To Lake Mahoma

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and afterward encounter on a hike to the gorgeous Lake Mahoma from which the trail gets its name. This trail will have you through a small stunning ridge which is at an altitude of 3,515m of altitude above sea level.

This ridge is covered by moss and you will proceed through a lush forest made of high heather covered in bright green moss layers. You will then continue remarkably following the Mountain Elephant footprints passing through the Bamboo and heather forest.

This gives you a great opportunity of spotting Elephants as they refresh and take water at the hot springs. This ridge takes you to Rukenga Valley where you will explore the everlasting flowers and giant lobelias.

When you reach this point, you will then cross to Mahoma camp where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay. If lucky, on clear skies, you will be able to see Mount Stanley, Mount Baker, and the Portal Peaks from this Camp.

Day 13: Mahoma Lake To Ibanda

Enjoy a thrilling breakfast, and embark on a walk around Lake Mahoma as you prepare to return to the starting point. You will go through the Nyabitaba ranger post and the Mpanga ridge to adjoin the Valley of Mubuku.

This valley harbors the three-horned Chameleon and it leads to Ibanda. From this point, you will board your vehicle and drive to Kibale National Park where you will arrive in the evening.

You will then check in at your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 14: Do Morning Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

After having a joyful breakfast, head to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing at 8 am. This is led by the park warden as it is to prepare you before encountering the Chimps which lasts for 2-5 hours.

Once you spot the Chimpanzees (man’s closest relatives, sharing 98.7% DNA), you are given 1 remarkable hour with them. You get excited when you see them feeding, playing, grooming, and swinging in trees, and you get to hear their amazing pant-hooting calls.

This will be a great opportunity and ample time for you to take photos and the sky is the limit.

Also during this encounter, you see other primates like L’Hoest’s Monkey, Blue Monkeys, Red-tailed Monkeys, Black-and-white Monkeys, Olive Baboons, and many bird species.

After this splendid encounter, descend back to your lodge for a hot lunch. You will later head to Bigodi wetland Sanctuary for an incredible nature walk. This wetland sanctuary is home to over 138 bird species including the Great Blue Turaco.

Day 15: Hike The Fort Portal Crater Lake Field, Tour Amabere Ga’ Nyinamwiru Caves, Mpanga Tea Estate Cycling, And Transfer To Kampala

Enjoy a morning breakfast and encounter on a visit to Amabere ga’ Nyinamwiru caves and also hike the Fort Portal crater Lake field. Once you arrive, you will be welcomed by the residents who have a deep history of the place.

You will also visit Arnabere ga’ Nnyinamwiru caves which have breast-like features that are known to have belonged to Nyinamwiru. She was the daughter of Bukuku who had self-enthroned as King of the Bachwezi.

Nyinamwiru was denied the opportunity to breakfast her baby Ndahura as his father had fears that the child would take over his throne. That’s why the rocks keep on dripping milk-like structures meaning that milk is still flowing out of her breasts.

After exploring these caves, encounter on the hike to Fort Portal Crater Lake field. When here you will navigate the challenging slopes of Kyeganywa hill which is bounded by many crater lakes.

It also has crater hollows presenting one of the most charming scenic views in Uganda. When on top of Kyeganywa hill on a clear day, you can get great opportunities for picturesque views of the Rwenzori Mountains.

You will then retreat from the chosen activity and drive back to Fort Portal where you will connect to Mpanga tea estates. When here, you will embark on a cycling adventure within the scenic green tea plantation with splendid landscapes while on a Mountain bike.

When cycling, you will see the estate staff plucking tea and you are not refused to participate in this exercise as it will connect you with the people. After this enticing activity, transfer back to Kampala which is about 300km (5 hours’ drive)

Day 1: Transfer From Kampala/ Entebbe To Gulu. Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary En Route

Your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala/ Entebbe at around 6:30 am and drive you to northern Uganda to Gulu town. This journey takes around 7-8 hours as you pass through astonishing landscapes.

It also takes you through bustling roadsides, markets, and various quiet rural villages. However, you will en route to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary which is home to the only 32 wild Rhinos in Uganda.

While here, you track the White Rhinos for 2 hours on foot and will have a magical close view of the creatures in their natural habitat.

After, commence to Murchison Falls park, check in your lodge, freshen up, and have a relaxation. Later in the evening at around 7 pm, embark on a night game drive. This is a great opportunity for you to see nocturnal animals like Hyenas, Lions, Leopards, and Civets.

Day 7: Visit The Top OF Murchison Falls And Transfer To Kibale National Park

After a late wonderful breakfast at 8:30 am, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the top of Murchison Falls. When here, you will get clear sightings of the River Nile (Africa’s longest river) from a different perspective.

You will then head southwards to Kibale National Park which is Africa’s primate capital. Along this transfer, you will enjoy the scenic drive along the Albertine rift valley and through the lush green countryside.

Arrive in the amazing town of Fort Portal for lunch and afterward proceed for a 1-hour drive to Kibale park. This national park boasts 13 primate species including 1,500 Chimpanzees who are our closest genetic relatives.

Day 8: Morning Chimp Trekking In Kibale Forest And Afternoon Bigodi Community Village Walk

After breakfast at 6:30 am, head to Kibale park headquarters with your packed lunch for Chimpanzee trekking briefing at 8 am. When through with it, start the 2-5 hour trek in the dense flora in search of habituated Chimp community on foot.

Along the search trails, you will also see various primates and many birds of the 370 bird species of the park.

Once you spot the Chimpanzees, you can wonder how they and common to humans. This is the best opportunity to see them, groom, eat, socialize, hunt, play, or patrol.

You are only given 1 magical hour to be with them and then return to the briefing point to enjoy your packed lunch. Later in the afternoon, set out for the Bigodi community walk.

You will arrive at your accommodation for lunch and a bit of relaxation. After this hot lunch, embark on a safari game drive to explore the striking landscapes and wildlife of Queen Elizabeth park.

Day 11: Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Enjoy An En- Route Game Drive In Ishasha Sector In Search OF Tree- Climbing Lions

Wake up for a hot energizing breakfast at 8 am and afterward set off for a 4-7 hour drive to Bwindi National Park. Along this enjoy, enjoy a short game drive in the southern Ishasha plains to see the tree-climbing Lions.

After encountering the mysterious creatures, proceed with the journey passing through the rolling hills of southwestern Uganda to Bwindi park.

Although it has a frightening name, Bwindi is a tropical rain forest paradise. This 321 km2 of untouched rain forest was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

It holds 50% (459) of the world’s surviving Mountain Gorillas (1,063), and 350 bird species including the 23 Albertine endemics. It also has 120 Uganda mammal species.

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi And Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi For Relaxation

After enjoying an early breakfast at around 6:30 am, head to Bwindi National Park headquarters for a lifetime Gorilla trekking adventure. You will first report for a short briefing at 7 am so that you get allocated a Gorilla family to track.

This national park has about 19 habituated Gorilla groups and each is assigned to not more than 8 visitors. Once you are briefed, embark on a relatively challenging trek within the thick misty jungle in search of a habituated gorilla group.

Upon spotting the giant apes, you spend 1 charming hour enjoying them communicating, feeding, and grooming. Also, you get to wonder how the Silverback is big which makes it Africa’s most memorable wildlife encounter.

Have breakfast early at around 7 am as you look at the amazing scenery of Lake Bunyonyi. It is the second deepest lake in Africa (900m deep) having 29 islands and it is surrounded by the terraced rolling hills of Kigezi.

After your thrilling breakfast, board a canoe ride and start island hopping. You will explore the amazing islands on this lake and learn about the history and traditions attached to them.

Among all the islands, the most captivating is Akampene Island (Punishment Island). This was where pregnant unmarried girls were left and abandoned to die. These girls died of hunger and drowned as they tried to escape.

This act of being pregnant before marriage was shameful for the girl’s family. This practice was more popular in Southwestern Uganda but was abandoned due to the coming of the missionaries.

Day 8: Transfer To Bwindi. Have En- Route Game Drive In Ishasha In Search Of Tree Climbing Lions

After a laze breakfast at 8 am, embark on a 160km (4-7 hours) drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is the best place in Africa for seeing Mountain Gorillas.

On this journey, you will drive through the Ishasha sector so that you get outstanding sightings of the uncommon tree-climbing Lions. These big cats chill in big fig tree branches as it is said that they climb trees to escape the heat and bite insects on the ground.

After enjoying this experience, proceed to Bwindi National Park which holds half (50%) of the world’s surviving mountain Gorillas (1,063). It has 19 habituated Gorilla families, 120 mammal species, and 350 birds counting 23 Albertine endemic bird species.

Have an energizing early breakfast and head to Bwindi National Park headquarters along with your packed lunch for Gorilla trekking briefing at 8 am. After, you can then start the 2-8 hour trek within the misty forest of Bwindi in search of a Gorilla family group.

When trekking the Mountain Gorillas, you will see other exciting wildlife like Monkeys, Butterflies, and many forest birds.

Once you spot the shy giant apes, enjoy 1 charming hour with them as you observe them feed, groom, and breastfeed. You will also appreciate the ultimate amazing size of the silver-back.

Day 10: Do Whole Day Relaxation At Lake Bunyonyi With Various Optional Activities

Have a late breakfast at 9 am and after embark on a canoe ride to tour some of the prominent amazing fabled islands of Lake Bunyonyi.

During this canoe ride, you will visit the terrifying Akampene or Punishment Island. This is where pregnant unmarried girls were thrown and left to die of hunger or die as they try to escape.

However, a few lucky ones survived when men who were unable to pay for the dowry price stole and took them home as their wives. Eventually, this practice was abandoned and abolished due to the coming of the missionaries.

Alternatively, on this day, you can hike one of the dazzling hills around the lake or swim in the lake. Or you can also do zip lining across the lake or have a community walk.

Have an early morning breakfast and head to Bwindi National Park headquarters with your packed lunch. You will arrive on time for Gorilla trekking briefing at 8 am.

You will then encounter an unforgettable 2-8 hours trek in the mist Bwindi Forest as you search for a Habituated Gorilla family group. Once you see the Gorillas, you will spend 1 magical hour with the giant apes

Day 10: Do A Whole Day Of Relaxation On Lake Bunyonyi

Wake up at laze and have a relaxed breakfast at 9 am. After, embark on a canoe to explore some of the main wonderful historical islands of Lake Bunyonyi. You cruise to the horrifying Akampene or Punishment Island.

Chimpanzee trekking here starts with a briefing at 7 am which is conducted by skilled park rangers and they will be your guides throughout. After getting briefed, embark into the forest on foot in search of the chimpanzees.

Have a spending breakfast at 6:30 am and then set off to the park headquarters for briefing. This is conducted by skilled local rangers who then guide you throughout the entire activity.

Have a hearty laze breakfast on this 9^th day of your 10 days Uganda safari tour. After, prepare and drive northeast for around 4 hours to Lake Mburo National Park. This is the smallest Savannah national park in Uganda sitting on an area of 260km2 (100 miles2).

Even though it is small, its scenery is quite outstanding boosting over 350 bird species and 68 Uganda animals. These include Leopards, Jackals, Hyenas, and Buffaloes.

Day 1: Drive From Kampala To Kibale National Park, Visit Amabere Caves & Fort Portal Crater Lake

Have an early morning breakfast at your hotel in Kampala at around 6:30 am before being picked up by your expert driver guide. After, you will drive for about 5 hours (300km) to western Uganda to the Fort Portal area.

This Uganda road trip is epic as you will enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Enjoy the sightings of the rural landscapes, en-route towns, swamps, and forests that are both natural and planted.

Upon arrival in Fort Portal town, have lunch and afterward head for a heritage tour to Amabere Caves. These are named after their looks as they look similar to the twin breasts of a woman.

These breasts are believed to have belonged to Nyinamwiru who was a fabled princess that every man admired. His father King Bukuku was receiving many marriage proposals even from unsuitable suitors so he decided to cut off her breasts so that she becomes less attractive.

But his was not enough as proposals kept coming in so he decided to hide her in the cave today known as Amabere. However, King Isaza of the Batembuzi found her and impregnated her with a son.

Since Nyinamwiru didn’t have breasts, she remained in the cave feeding her baby with cloudy limestone (milk-like structure).

This structure drips from the stalactites.

This baby was nurtured and matured from the stalactite drips and became King Ndahura. He founded the Bachwezi dynasty that governed the Bunyoro Kitara Empire for centuries.

Day 5 will start at 6:30 am with you having breakfast afterward you will transfer to Kalinzu Forest Reserve. This forest is on the border of Queen Elizabeth National Park and it is ideal for Chimpanzee trekking experiences.

Chimpanzee Trekking in this lush tropical rain forest is about 2-5 hours and you get 1 hour to be in the presence of the apes. During this hour, you will see Chimpanzees as they forage, patrol, mate, jump from branch to branch and hunt among other behaviors.

Day 6: Whole Day Fishing Along The Nile River To The Bottom Of The Falls

After you have had your hearty breakfast at around 7 am, board a boat in accompaniment with skilled guides. This will mark the beginning of the fishing encounter along the Nile upstream.

This area is full of opportunities for grabbing the Nile Perch, Cat Fish, and Tiger-fish. When fishing along the river, you will get clear views of Hippos, Nile Crocodiles, and many water birds including the Shoe-bill. This is Uganda’s most sought-after bird.

Day 1: Drive To Murchison Falls National Park And En Route To Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary To Track White Rhinos

Day 1 will start with you having a hearty early morning breakfast from your hotel at around 6 am. After, our expert driver-guide in a 4X4 safari car will pick you up at around 6:30 am.

Settle in comfortably and drive 310km (4-5 hours) from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park. When this Uganda road trip, will give you a sight into the life of many local Ugandans whom you will meet along the way.

You will see these people doing their daily routine work like cultivation and you will see men and women riding bicycles with produce going to local markets to trade.

This day begins with you having a morning breakfast at around 6 am so that you embark on the road trip as early as possible. This road trip will take you through the thrilling countryside of Uganda as you advance to Kibale National Park.

After, you will advance to Kanyanchu Tourism Center in Kibale National Park to participate in Chimpanzee trekking briefing which starts at 8 am. The briefing is conducted by park rangers who will then be your guides during your Chimpanzee trekking.

When the briefing is done, groups of 8 people embark into the forest in search of man’s closest relative (chimpanzees). Kibale Forest is dense with lush flora including mature trees that have huge buttresses and climbers.

If you are a bird lover, then this is a great opportunity for you as you need to keep an open eye as this forest is home to a variety of Impressive bird species.

These include;

Apart from Chimpanzees, Kibale National Park holds other 12 Primate species like the endangered Red Colobus Monkeys. This park has the highest of Red-Colobus Monkeys.

Day 2: Full Day Fishing On Lake Victoria From Pineapple Bay

After having a good satisfying breakfast at around 7 am, go for your long-awaited fishing tour. You will be escorted by an expert guide on a motorized boat with expectations of fishing many fish species including the Nile Perch.

This captivating experience will not only be for the fishing safari but as well you will enjoy the nearby scenery. This scenery marks the area like a series of Islands, you will see fishermen, the expanse of water masses, and man water birds.

On this fishing encounter, you will have the opportunity of taking good pictures that you will forever remember during your encounter on the lake. After catching your favorite fish, return for lunch and relaxation.

After relaxing from the superb lunch, go for more rewarding fishing encounters in the evening. You will then return for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Connect Back To The Main Land And Transfer To Murchison Falls National Park, Chobe Safari Lodge (Chobe Sector)

Have a calm breakfast at around 8:30 am and board a 45-minute boat trip back to Entebbe mainland. Upon arrival, you will sit in an extended Luxury safari land cruiser and drive northwest 351km (5-6 hours) to Murchison Falls National Park.

This is the largest national park in Uganda and is bisected by Africa’s longest river (River Nile). This is where you find the world’s strongest waterfalls and also this park has a superb collection of African wildlife including over 556 bird species.

In addition, this park has over 144 mammal species with 4 of the big 5 and it has the biggest population of the Rothschild’s Giraffes.

When Driving to Murchison Falls park, you will pass through the striking scenery of Central Uganda crossing River Kafu and the Karuma Bridge on the River Nile.

You will arrive at Chobe Safari Lodge and check in. Afterward, you can enjoy the rest of the day swimming in the 3-level swimming pool overlooking the flowing River Nile. Here this river roars past the small rapids that stand along its way.

Before retiring for the evening for the next day, you might choose to go fishing in the river at sunset.

Day 6: Whole Day Fishing Along River Nile To The Bottom Of Murchison Falls

Have a late cozy breakfast at around 8:30 am. After, board a motorized boat in the company with skilled guides and embark on your fishing experience along the Nile upstream.

This area is ideal for catching Nile Perch, Catfish, and Tigerfish. Also, during the fishing experience, you will very well see Hippos, Crocodiles, and many water-related birds. And this includes the Shoe-bill which is Uganda’s sought-after bird.

During this fishing encounter, you carry a packed lunch and afterward fish near the bottom of Murchison Falls. This place is ideal for the Nile Perch though it is still unstable following the squeezing of the River Nile into a narrow gorge.

Murchison Falls is the world’s strongest waterfall! And there is no doubt about that. It may not be as wide or big as you think but this Africa’s longest river is about 50 meters.

It squeezes in a narrow 7-meter escarpment falling 45 meters below the known as the devil’s cauldron. During this course, it forms a plume of spray with accompany by a crashing roar with a permanent rainbow. This is a truly unforgettable experience!

After this thrilling adventure, drive back to Kampala or Entebbe which is about 311km (5-6 hours). You will have a superb lunch en route before arriving in Kampala late afternoon.
